Aargau is known for its history which dates back to the Romans and includes the Habsburgs. Numerous castles and monasteries show art and other cultural artefacts. Other/Air: The Zürich-Kloten International Airport can be reached by car from Aarau in 35 minutes. The train ride takes 60 minutes; trains run every half hour.

Basel Airport is reached by car in 55 minutes. Trains run every half hour and take 65 minutes to reach the airport.
